The Future of the Air Traffic Control System

At the recent “Communicating for Safety” conference in Chicago, sponsored by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), the organization’s members were largely talking to themselves. The assembled controllers aired a variety of problems, but too few were on hand from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to listen or to share the agency’s perspective.

FAA Admits Workers Were Exposed to Asbestos Print E-mail

Mentally deficient contractor personnel were exposed to hazardous asbestos during cleanup at a Federal Aviation Facility (FAA) in Virginia where national air traffic is monitored. The situation calls into question the FAA’s safety oversight of its own facilities at a time when the agency is also under scrutiny for its oversight of the airlines.
